Fire PPE

Fire PPE Fabrics

We develop and manufacture specialist firefighter fabrics with a single purpose: to keep people safe and protected in the most hazardous situations.

Our mission is to keep emergency services workers safe. We listen, we innovate, we test, and we apply fibre positioning knowledge to deliver protection, comfort and quality.

Fire PPE Fabrics

Our firefighter fabrics are rigorously tested in our UKAS accredited testing laboratory (No 4122).

Fabrics that offer the
ultimate protection

We’re passionate about protecting individuals facing hazardous situations. Hainsworth is a global leader in textile development, manufacture and application, and we have supplied flame-resistant fabric to firefighters for over 150 years.

TITAN™

TITAN™ is the world’s leading range of protective fabrics. We incorporate DuPont Nomex® with para-aramid fibres to protect fire fighters from the effects of heat and flame, whilst at the same time minimizing heat stress. TITAN ™ is designed to meet or exceed the performance requirements of both the European and American standards for fire fighter structural PPE.

ECO-DRY

ECO-DRY is a single-layer fabric specifically designed for wildland firefighters. ECO-DRY incorporates the benefits of wool – nature’s performance fibre – to offer optimum protection and the best levels of comfort in high-intensity scenarios.

customer testimonials

“We’ve been delighted with the way that ECO-DRY has performed as part of our wildland ensemble. It wicks away moisture really well, which helps to keep you cool in such tough environments. In comparison to other wildland garments that I’ve tested, which can feel like wearing cardboard, the comfort that ECO-DRY provides is incredible.”

South Australia Country Fire Service

“Hainsworth TITAN kit keeps me cool and prevents me from being a boil in a bag. TITAN provides the flexibility whether I am in a fire situation which may be a short, sharp hit of 15 to 30 minutes or standing on a jet for three or four hours. Our kit provides comfort and flexibility of use.”

West Midlands Fire Service

“Our new garments definitely feel lighter. The new kit keeps us cooler when working for long periods of time at high intensity.”

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service

We have recently unveiled our latest investment into the future of textile innovation – a £250,000 state-of-the-art new laboratory space.

All Hainsworth Protective Fabrics meet and surpass international industry standards. Our laboratory means we can test our fabrics in-house, to ensure consistency at all stages of the manufacturing process.

Our team of lab technicians carry out a range of standard tests for evaluating specific textile properties both physical (e.g. tensile / tear strength, rub tests) and chemical (e.g. colour fastness).
