Crafted and designed by renowned British tailor, Joshua Kane, this collaboration represents a fresh reinterpretation of “The Mayfair Dandy”.

London Fashion Week AW24

Luke Derrick’s AW24 collection, titled NIGHTWALKING, explores the 12-minute journey taken every night while returning home late from his studio in Bethnal Green to his flat in Spitalfields, East London. The collection features Hainsworth cloth in various pieces, including our Melton, Barathea, and Cavalry Twill.

An awe-inspiring collaboration with the LCF Tailors

We set the final year BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring students at London College of Fashion (LCF) a brief to design their very own bespoke jacquard cloth, made of a Fine Merino Double cloth quality. The winning students would have the opportunity to have their designs woven at the Hainsworth Mill in Yorkshire, and then used to create beautiful garments, which they then showcased as part of their final collection. Patrick’s pick

Community Clothing, popular Social Enterprise brand, recently used Hainsworth Melton to create their ‘Arthur Wool Chore Jacket’, a high-quality, wearable collared jacket which is favoured by Patrick Grant himself, founder of Community Clothing. The Arthur takes inspiration from a traditional donkey jacket, but is made from a mid-weight Hainsworth Melton rather than the traditional heavy Woollen fabric.

Transeasonal dressing: MMU FDT X Hainsworth Signature Fabrics

For our 23/24 Live Brief competition with the Manchester Metropolitan University Fashion Design and Technology students, we challenged a new generation of designers to create a transeasonal garment.

Customer Testimonials

Lee Marsh,

“I have worked with AW Hainsworth right from the beginning of my career as a designer, for my Graduation Show, visiting the mill and hand selecting cloth. They produce a quality product with a fantastic range of iconic colours that I trust.”

Alex Mullins,

“We were delighted to partner with luxury British textile manufacturer AW Hainsworth who collaborated with three of our final year students, to weave and finish a bespoke length of Fine Merino Double cloth to the students’ individual jacquard designs, which they have incorporated into their collections.”

Daniel Poulson, London College of Fashion

“Hainsworth fabric has been the cornerstone of so many parts of the collection.”

Luke Derrick, DERRICK

“AW Hainsworth is one of the oldest and best woollen mills in the world. They’ve been doing this a long time, they really know what they’re doing. Community Clothing has only ever used their melton cloth for our woollen coats.”

Patrick Grant, Community Clothing

The Slow Fashion movement opposes fast fashion’s rapid production of cheaply-made clothing, highlighting its negative environmental and social impacts. It promotes mindful wardrobe choices over trend-driven consumption.

Growing consciousness and accountability throughout the fashion industry – and consumers – is resulting in 3 main fashion movements. Consumers are demanding more from brands that can answer the requirements of these movements.
