Innovation in cloth and fibre
Hainsworth has been innovating for over 240 years. Since 1783 we’ve been leading the way on textile manufacturing processes, as we introduced pioneering new weaves and the latest fabrics to our customer markets. This history has given us a unique understanding of the properties of fibres and woven cloth.
Today, we continue to innovate, always exploring the capabilities of the fabrics we produce and developing new textile qualities to meet our customers’ needs. We strive to keep pushing ourselves, taking our knowledge even further and investing in our technical facilities. Throughout this, we never lose sight of our commitment to sustainability.
Our laboratory
At the heart of our mill lies our UKAS-accredited laboratory, a state-of-the-art space for our team of fabric technologists to apply their expertise. Using the latest equipment and machinery, the team carry out a range of standard tests that help to ensure our fabrics are of the highest quality.
We have also developed our own in-house testing methods where standard tests don’t exist, so our fabrics are consistently perfect for their end use. The lab is also integral to any new Hainsworth product developments, so we can continue to explore the capabilities of fabric.
