Like the fabric we create, the fabric of our company is made up of two vital elements.
On the one hand, there’s our history. Production started in 1783 and across eight generations of the Hainsworth family, weaving continues today in our Yorkshire mill. All this history behind us means we’re uniquely placed to introduce British-made fabrics of exceptional quality to a new generation.
On the other hand, there’s our passionate belief in the future of the UK textiles industry. Innovation is a tradition at AW Hainsworth. We constantly look ahead, applying our technical expertise in collaboration with our customers, to develop the most technically advanced solutions. From the time Abimelech William Hainsworth started manufacturing woollen cloth in Yorkshire in 1783, investing in our people and developing strong partnerships with customers and suppliers have been central to our success.

Our dedicated workforce monitor and improve product quality at each stage of the manufacturing process. As well as departmental monitoring, we also have a series of inspection points throughout the manufacturing process so we can identify and rectify any faults.
