The AW Hainsworth property portfolio has been built up over the history of the company, starting with fields and then buying surrounding land and buildings. Within the mills boundary, there is a row of mill houses, built at the same time as the main part of the factory. The mill houses were originally built to house the mills work force, over two hundred years later the houses are still used as housing for a number of workers as well as private lettings.
Today Spring Valley Mills is 250,000 square feet of space and sits on 4.5 acres, and is a mixture of different buildings, some historic and some modern. Not all the factory is used for the company’s own manufacturing process, some space is given up to related businesses.
The company plans to use the property to ensure that people have a local place to work, and manufacture.
